Michael Long is a policeman, while investigating someone, he was shot and left for dead. But a millionaire, Wilton Knight finds him and saves him and gives him a new face. It seems that Knight wants to wage a war against criminals who operate above the law. And Michael is the man he has chosen to wage that war. He has created the ultimate car, the Knight Industries Two Thousand or KITT, which is laced with a virtually indestructible alloy, and is also capable of moving on its own and also talks. He gives the car to Michael, and gives him the new identity of Michael Knight. Michael is assisted by one of Knight's associates, Devon Miles. Bonnie is the mechanic who takes care of KITT. During the second season Bonnie was replaced by April, as the new mechanic. The folowing season she left and Bonnie returned. The next season they acquired a new member, Reginald Cornelius III or RC3. Michael Long is a crimefighter who is seriously wounded during his work. Nursed back to health by a mysterious benefactor (chairman of the Knight Industries), he regains consciousness a new man with a new face and a new name: Michael Knight. His mysterious benefactor (through the guise of associate Devon Miles) provides Michael with equipment and support so that he can continue his crime fighting work. The most notable piece of equipment supplied, is "KITT", a high-performance sports car fitted with artificial intelligence. When Knight Rider first aired in 1982 I was just seven and I was a very impressionable little girl. I also was madly in love with Micheal Knight! I swear I was determined to watch each episode even if my stupid brother wanted to watch something else. I was in second grade and he was in kindergarten and had only a half day, but when I got home that t.v. was mine! I have watched Knight Rider since then, and I still love the show. Of course I'm older now and everything is different like Micheal Knight is not as good looking as my hero worship seven year old eyes might have thought….but I still love him. The shows are not as hair raising as I once remembered them…..but I still bite my nails. Even though it's been years and years the show still holds mass appeal for me and I will always love it…….the car is still kick ass not matter how old I get! The car everyone would like to have and the man alot would like to be.I know all the lovers of this show would love to have one:-)Me too i even liked the fact that i had the same hairstyle like Michael Knight. It's the story that makes it unigue, how much of you watch it and thought how wonderfull it would be if this car was made in the future, allthought alot of the technology KITT has new cars have now, maps and stuff like that. Also with the handsfree alot of people speak alone in the car and that gives someone the freedom to "Speak"to KITT:-))IF you know what i mean, personally i still hope one day a car like that would be made in the future, and also it is a show we need today that alot of shows are about vampires or spaceships or gothic stuff that poot down the human values. As for remakes i don't know it would be a good thing cause nothing can replace the original actors,it's something you can't poot together again,a good thing to make a remake is that we need shows like that and with todays technology it won't seem so strange,so we have one not make and one do make. This show if unigue. The car everyone that wanted to have and the guy alot of people would want to be
